Early license expiration warning for a re-issuable license
Sep 17, 2010 01:00pm
Question:
I'm using a re-issuable Centova Cast license and I just received a warning that it is about to expire, but it's a valid license and should not be expiring any time soon. What does this mean, and how do I correct it?
Answer:
This usually indicates one of three things: - Did you set up the Centova Cast cron job during installation? If not, please review the Centova Cast installation guide and ensure that you've followed all of the steps for a correct installation.
Re-issuable license keys are updated from our licensing servers roughly every week by the cron job, and if your cron job is not running (or not running correctly) then your license will eventually expire automatically.
- Is your Centova Cast cron job working correctly? Try running the following command:
/home/centovacast/system/runascc/runascc exec ccmanage cronjob all --debug
Note that this may appear wordwrapped above, but should all be entered
on one line. If any of the lines begin with "ERR", then there is a
problem with your cron job which will need to be resolved.
If you see errors regarding cronjob.lck, this likely indicates that your setuid binaries in /home/centovacast/system/runascc/ have lost their setuid bits and/or are owned by the wrong account.
- Is an error occurring when Centova Cast attempts to update your license? Try running the following command.
/home/centovacast/system/runascc/runascc exec ccmanage reissuelicense @current
Note that this may appear wordwrapped above, but should all be entered on one line. If any of the lines begin with "ERR", then there is a problem which will need to be resolved.
- Is there an outbound firewall on your server preventing it from contacting license1.centova.com, license2.centova.com, or license3.centova.com? If so, Centova Cast will not be able to contact our licensing servers to obtain key updates, and your license will eventually expire automatically.
- If the above two issues do not appear to be relevant to your installation, please login to your client account at http://www.centova.com and click on "Manage Product Licenses". Find your license in the list and check its status.
Is your license marked Active? If so, then everything should be working. Contact us if you require further assistance in diagnosing the problem.
Is your license marked Suspended? If so, we likely did not receive payment for your license renewal, or the payment was cancelled or charged back. Contact us if you require clarification.
Is your license marked with another status? Please contact us for assistance.
