Error in web interface: open_basedir restriction in effect

Question:
I'm receiving the following error when attempting to use Centova Cast:Warning: xxx: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(xxx) is not within the allowed path(s)
How do I correct this?
Answer:
Per the error message itself, this indicates that open_basedir restrictions have been enabled on your web site. Per the Centova Cast system requirements, these must be disabled for Centova Cast to operate. Please ask your systems administrator to disable open_basedir in PHP, as well as any other artificial restrictions (safe mode, disabled functions, etc.).
